Due to the lack of a "medicinal" scent, which is the focus of most other eucalyptus species, the aromatic lemon eucalyptus oil is particularly popular with children. This oil is used primarily for respiratory problems, where it can clear the airways and relieve pain, allowing you to breathe deeply. Origin of lemon eucalyptus - lat. Eucalyptus citriodora/ Corymbiacitriodora - Australia
In more recent botanical identification books, the lemon eucalyptus is no longer referred to as Eucalyptuscitriodora but as Corymbiacitriodora. Lemon eucalyptus belongs to the genus Corymbia and is a member of the myrtle family (Myrtales). The lemon eucalyptus originally comes from the west coast of Australia, where it forms forests with other species in large stands. Today it is a popular container plant worldwide. The lemon eucalyptus grows up to 50 meters tall as a tree. The leaves have oil glands on their rich green, shiny surface in which the essential eucalyptus oil citriodora is produced and stored. The inflorescences bear up to 3 green-white flowers per umbel. The fertilized flowers first develop into fruits in which the small reddish-black seeds ripen.
