Effect & Properties

With its fresh, lemony smell, the scent revitalizes and refreshes, ideal when you need a pleasant energy boost. Thanks to its gentle freshness, the lemon eucalyptus oil brightens your mood and has a liberating and clarifying effect. In addition, the scent strengthens you both physically and mentally to increase your stamina and give you new strength. The oil gives you the gentle boost you need to get through the day. Various types of eucalyptus oils have been used in aromatherapy for a long time thanks to their health-promoting diversity. Due to the lack of a "medicinal" scent, which is the focus of most other eucalyptus species, the aromatic lemon eucalyptus oil is particularly popular with children. This oil is used primarily for respiratory problems, where it can clear the airways and relieve pain, allowing you to breathe deeply. Thanks to its strong antioxidant properties, it also protects your body.

Lemon eucalyptus as a room scent and in perfumery

As a room scent, lemon eucalyptus essential oil can create a brightening atmosphere and keep away possible insects such as mosquitoes. There is a liberating, clarifying and strengthening effect, which can help you with your stamina.

In cosmetics, the essential eucalyptus oil citriodora is mainly used to produce fragrances for household cleaning products. The oil has a high proportion of allergenic components. In combination with other lemony essential oils, it is often used to repel insects. Cockroaches and silverfish in particular respond to eucalyptus essential oil citriodora.

Origin of lemon eucalyptus - lat. Eucalyptus citriodora/ Corymbiacitriodora - Australia

In more recent botanical identification books, the lemon eucalyptus is no longer referred to as Eucalyptuscitriodora but as Corymbiacitriodora. Lemon eucalyptus belongs to the genus Corymbia and is a member of the myrtle family (Myrtales). The lemon eucalyptus originally comes from the west coast of Australia, where it forms forests with other species in large stands. Today it is a popular container plant worldwide. The lemon eucalyptus grows up to 50 meters tall as a tree. The leaves have oil glands on their rich green, shiny surface in which the essential eucalyptus oil citriodora is produced and stored. The inflorescences bear up to 3 green-white flowers per umbel. The fertilized flowers first develop into fruits in which the small reddish-black seeds ripen.
