Description:

Rosengeranie / Fragrance Geranium - Pelargonium graveolens

Rose geranium essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the flowers, leaves and stems of the Pelargonium graveolens plant. Rose geranium belongs to the genus Pelargonium in the cranesbill family (Geraniaceae). This genus consists of about 280 different species. The designation of the rose geranium as 'geranium' is botanically incorrect, but is used for the ornamental plants in common parlance. Most pelargonium species originally come from southern Africa, but are now popular ornamental plants worldwide. Depending on the climatic environment, the rose geranium grows as an annual or perennial herb. As the plant ages, the stems can also become woody and form a small bush that can grow up to 120 cm tall. Small droplets containing the essential oil form on the leaves. The flowers are pink to purple in color.

if room scent Depending on the indication and combination with other essential oils, the essential oil can have a relaxing, constructive, harmonizing, peaceful, sensual or stimulating effect. It allows nervous tension and negative memories to disappear and inner peace to be found.

In the aromatherapy Rose geranium essential oil is highly valued for its multiple effects on the entire psyche. In the case of emotional stress, it contributes to relaxation and lets the beautiful sides of life come to the fore again. It has a calming effect, especially in the case of restlessness caused by vague itching. The essential oil can have an anxiolytic and antidepressant effect on hormonal depression. It is therefore recommended to support therapy as an application in the fragrance lamp. In treatments, the therapist uses it for massages, liniments and oil baths. The following properties are assigned to essential rose geranium oil in the specialist literature: anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, antifungal, analgesic, antibacterial, haemostatic, astringent, insect-repellent.

In the Cosmetics the essential rose geranium oil has a prominent position. It can be used in almost all types of composition for perfume fragrances. It is also often used as a substitute for the much more expensive real rose oil. It also has an insect repellent effect, so that it is also used in corresponding products (scented candles, liniments). Rose Geranium Essential Oil can be combined with almost any other essential oil.

Please note that essential oils are concentrates that may only be used diluted, as well as the information under "Application".

Product Profile:

Characteristics of the organic rose geranium essential oil

Rose geranium essential oil is a mobile, yellow to greenish liquid. It has a fine and floral scent, with pleasant notes of rose and slightly minty shares. Due to the naturally contained citronellol, which is also found in expensive, real rose oil, it is often used as a cheap alternative. In terms of length of stay, intensity and effect, it is one of the heart notes.

The oil dissolves well in alcohol (1:3, ethanol 70%), vegetable oils and other essential oils. It is almost insoluble in water.

The natural components of the all-natural essential oil include
Citronellol, geraniol and menthol isomers. Linalool, pinene isomers, citral and limonene are contained in lower concentrations.
