    Good to know

Clary sage as a room fragrance and in perfumery

As a room fragrance , clary sage essential oil can have a very calming and uplifting effect on exhaustion, depression, and general irritability. At the same time, the highly inspiring scent can help reduce stress and restore joy and creativity.

In cosmetics, the essential oil of clary sage is mainly used as a fragrance note for full, euphoric or imaginative scents, but also as a product in creams for smoother skin.

Where does clary sage come from?

Clary sage belongs to the genus Salvia in the mint family (Lamiaceae). This biennial plant is also known as clary sage or Roman sage due to its use as a medicinal plant in ancient times, as well as a spice. The Latin name Salvia is derived from the Latin word for "heal," which further illustrates the belief in the healing properties of this plant in earlier times. The sage plant is native to Central and Eastern Europe and western Asia, where it grows up to one meter tall and has flowers that are purple, burgundy, or white.

    General information about essential oils

What makes our essential oils special?
    • 100% natural: Our oils contain no added synthetic substances or other oils.
    • Organic and sustainable: We only use concentrates from plants from controlled organic cultivation (kbA).
    • Genuine & authentic: The oil is unaltered, natural and obtained only from the specified parent plant according to the botanical name.
    • Natural and versatile: There are numerous possible uses and fragrance combinations for you to mix yourself. With our essential oils, you can feel good in a healthy atmosphere at home, in the office, and on the go.
    • Good quality at a fair price: Since our oils contain 10 ml per bottle, we are significantly cheaper than our competitors, who often offer only 5 ml per bottle.
Why should you try essential oils?

Essential oils are a good and healthy alternative to chemical-based air fresheners and artificial fragrances. Essential oils are a healthy way to create a pleasant scent in your home, office, or wherever you are.

Essential oils also have a pleasant effect and, depending on their notes and scent, can help you relax or concentrate; they can have a calming or comforting effect, or they can be refreshing, invigorating, or energizing. The diverse scents and diverse uses can enhance your well-being and be a wonderful addition to your everyday life. Just give them a try and see for yourself!

How can aromas affect the body?

Aromas can affect your body in several ways. The most obvious way is through the nose: The olfactory nerves transmit the signal to the brain and can thus influence moods.

Another mode of action is through the skin. The molecules of essential oils can pass through cell membranes and the skin, thus reaching the tissue and bloodstream. They are therefore also capable of influencing the body through this route.

A third mode of action is via the stomach: When we eat spices such as peppermint or thyme, which contain essential oils, they reach the stomach and exert their effect via this route.

Are there risks and side effects associated with essential oils? And what's the truth behind the criticism of aromatherapy?

Essential oils should only be used diluted, as high concentrations can cause headaches and allergic reactions

Since essential oils have diverse effects (strong substances with strong effects), they should be used carefully

Aromatherapy is a holistic form of therapy for body and soul. It is difficult to evaluate the therapy scientifically. The sensory and emotional impressions triggered by the oils cannot be objectively measured.
