The idea

It was important to us to develop a vegan baking recipe , since all our supplements are vegan. We want to give everyone access to healthy supplements. And what could be better for baking than chocolate brownies? In this recipe, we not only use ProteinAgil as a protein source, but we've also added black beans. Double the protein power in every bite !

Ingredients for one servingof protein brownies (approx. 12 pieces)

1 can of black beans (approx. 240 g drained weight)
75g spelt flour (or another type of flour of your choice)
25 g ProteinAgil (Vegan Protein Powder with DigeZyme ®)

25g baking cocoa
1 pinch of salt
80 g agave syrup (or another liquid sweetener of your choice)
1 packet of vanilla sugar
100 ml unsweetened soy milk (or another plant-based drink alternative)
40 g sunflower oil
2 tsp baking powder
50g chopped dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa for extra flavor)
1 jar of cherries (drained weight approx. 200 g)

The preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C (top/bottom heat) and line a brownie pan with baking paper or grease it.

  1. Rinse black beans well and puree finely with a mixer or immersion blender.

  1. Add all remaining ingredients (except cherries) and mix with a hand mixer.

  1. Gently fold in the cherries and pour the batter into the baking tin.

  1. Bake for approximately 30 minutes and then allow to cool completely.

  1. For the best consistency, let the brownies chill in the refrigerator for a few hours – then they will be extra moist!

Tip: If you want even more crunch, you can add chopped nuts or cacao nibs !

Tips!

  • For even more protein: Replace Replace some of the flour with more ProteinAgil (e.g., 35g instead of 25g). Use unsweetened peanut butter or almond butter as part of the fat source – this adds extra protein and flavor!

  • Extra fudgy & moist : Leave the brownies in the refrigerator overnight – they will become even moister! If you want to eat them right away , you can serve them slightly warm – then they are especially chocolatey!

  • Crunchy Upgrade : Mix chopped nuts (e.g. walnuts or almonds) into the dough.
Sprinkle cocoa nibs or extra chocolate pieces on the brownies after baking – for extra crunch!

  • Sugar-free sweetening : If you want less sugar , you can use date paste or erythritol instead of agave syrup . Ripe bananas add extra sweetness, making them even more natural.

  • Gluten-free option : Replace spelt flour with gluten-free oat flour or almond flour for a gluten-free option.
