The idea
It was important to us to develop a vegan recipe for baking , as all of our nutritional supplements are vegan. We want to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy healthy supplements. And what's better for baking than chocolatey brownies? In this recipe, we not only rely on ProteinAgil as a protein source, but also opted for black beans. So, double the protein power in every bite !
Ingredients for one servingof protein brownies (approx. 12 pieces)
1 can of black beans (approx. 240 g drained weight)
75 g spelt flour (or another flour of your choice)
25 g ProteinAgil (Vegan Protein Powder with DigeZyme ®)
25g baking cocoa
1 pinch of salt
80 g agave syrup (or another liquid sweetener of your choice)
1 packet of vanilla sugar
100 ml unsweetened soy milk (or another plant-based drink alternative)
40 g sunflower oil
2 tsp baking powder
50 g chopped dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa for extra flavor)
1 jar of cherries (drained weight approx. 200 g)
The preparation
-
Preheat oven to 180°C top/bottom heat and line a brownie tin with baking paper or grease it.
-
Rinse black beans well and puree finely with a blender or hand blender.
-
Add all remaining ingredients (except cherries) and mix with a hand mixer.
-
Carefully fold in the cherries and pour the batter into the baking tin.
-
Bake for about 30 minutes and then let cool completely.
-
For the best consistency, let the brownies sit in the fridge for a few hours – then they will be extra moist!
Tip: If you want even more crunch, you can add chopped nuts or cocoa nibs !

Tips!
-
For even more protein: Replace Replace some of the flour with more ProteinAgil (e.g., 35 g instead of 25 g). Use unsweetened peanut butter or almond butter as part of the fat source – it adds extra protein and flavor!
-
Extra fudgy & moist : Leave the brownies in the fridge overnight – they will be even moister! If you want to eat them straight away , you can serve them slightly warm – then they will be especially chocolatey!
-
Crunchy Upgrade : Mix chopped nuts (e.g. walnuts or almonds) into the batter.
After baking, sprinkle cocoa nibs or extra chocolate chips on the brownies for extra crunch!
-
Sugar-free sweetening : If you want less sugar , you can use date paste or erythritol instead of agave syrup . Ripe bananas add sweetness and make it even more natural.
-
Gluten-free option : Replace spelt flour with gluten-free oat flour or almond flour for a gluten-free option.
