Bergamot essential oil is used in aromatherapy to treat mental illnesses. Its fresh, citrusy scent has a particularly positive effect on depression, including winter depression caused by a lack of light. It is also said to have a relaxing effect on the nerves and provide relief from premenstrual symptoms. Its antiseptic and expectorant properties are used therapeutically for respiratory illnesses and tonsillitis. Bergamot oil also has antispasmodic and carminative effects, making it suitable for indigestion, colic, and flatulence. It is also successfully used by therapists for viral skin diseases such as herpes or shingles. Bergamot oil has a strong top note and is considered a strengthening and restorative oil.

    1. Recyclable aluminum cans | Reduce・Reuse・Recycle

We package our nutritional supplements in high-quality aluminum cans because aluminum conserves natural resources. It is not only particularly light, but also up to 100% recyclable and reduces energy consumption and CO2 emissions during packaging production. We have taken care to use the smallest possible can size so as not to waste material unnecessarily. This is also filled to the brim.

    2. Gentle cold pressing from the bergamot peel

During cold pressing, the essential oil is gently extracted from the peel of the bergamot fruit – without heat or chemical additives. This process preserves the valuable fragrances and plant essences in their natural, unadulterated quality. The result: a pure, authentic oil with the typical fresh citrus scent.

    3. Organic quality

We only use raw materials from certified organic farming. This guarantees a product that is free from synthetic pesticides and chemical additives – good for you and the environment.

    Good to know

Bergamot as a room fragrance and in perfumery

As a room fragrance, the essential oil can have an uplifting, harmonizing, and refreshing effect and is considered a bright spot in a gloomy mood. In perfumery, bergamot oil contributes fragrance components to woody and resinous notes, as well as floral, lavender, and other floral fragrances. It is also a component of cologne and is used in many hair care products. In combination with a carrier oil such as almond or jojoba oil, bergamot oil can be used to create antispasmodic massage oils that have a positive effect on scar tissue, stretch marks, or skin imperfections. Please note that essential oils such as bergamot oil are concentrates and should only be used diluted. Further information can be found under "Product Details - Notes." Our bergamot essential oil is for use as a room fragrance. In a fragrance lamp, add 5-8 drops of essential oil to a bowl filled with water or directly moisten the fragrance stone with it. When combined with other essential oils, reduce the amount as desired. 5-8 drops of bergamot peel oil in the fragrance lamp counteracts a drop in mood, cheers us up, and brings us back into balance.

    Where does bergamot come from?

Origin of bergamot (lat. Citrus aurantiumbergamia)

The bergamot tree belongs to the citrus family (Citrus), which belongs to the rue family (Rutaceae). Bergamot is thought to have originated from a cross between bitter orange (Citrus aurantium) and citron (Citrus medica). Its distribution area is primarily limited to southern Italy, but is increasingly expanding to areas with similar climates around the Mediterranean. The evergreen plant reaches heights of up to four meters. The white, fragrant flowers open in early spring. The pear-shaped, green to yellow fruits are harvested between November and March.

Why should you try essential oils?

Essential oils are a good and healthy alternative to chemical-based air fresheners and artificial fragrances. Essential oils are a healthy way to create a pleasant scent in your home, office, or wherever you are.

Essential oils also have a pleasant effect and, depending on their notes and scent, can help you relax or concentrate; they can have a calming or comforting effect, or they can be refreshing, invigorating, or energizing. The diverse scents and diverse uses can enhance your well-being and be a wonderful addition to your everyday life. Just give them a try and see for yourself!

How can aromas affect the body?

Aromas can affect your body in several ways. The most obvious way is through the nose: The olfactory nerves transmit the signal to the brain and can thus influence moods.

Another mode of action is through the skin. The molecules of essential oils can pass through cell membranes and the skin, thus reaching the tissue and bloodstream. They are therefore also capable of influencing the body through this route.

A third mode of action is via the stomach: When we eat spices such as peppermint or thyme, which contain essential oils, they reach the stomach and exert their effect via this route.

Are there risks and side effects associated with essential oils? And what's the truth behind the criticism of aromatherapy?

Essential oils should only be used diluted, as high concentrations can cause headaches and allergic reactions

Since essential oils have diverse effects (strong substances with strong effects), they should be used carefully

Aromatherapy is a holistic form of therapy for body and soul. It is difficult to evaluate the therapy scientifically. The sensory and emotional impressions triggered by the oils cannot be objectively measured.
